Word of wisdom: For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven, they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and through the whole earth. Zechariah 4:10
Life point: Small things lead to big things. Many of us can remember the day of small things, which would have been so easy to despise!
Starting an endeavour is easy, but finishing it is much harder. In the beginning we are excited, and usually people give us all kinds of enthusiastic support.
But as the days go by and the great and glorious cause becomes a matter of daily, consistent hard work, often we are left with nobody to urge us on except God and ourselves.
That is when we have to decide if we are going to see it through to the finish. Those days can be very frustrating while living them. But very important they are times of preparation for the greater days the Lord knew lay ahead. It requires faith to press through those early hardships.
We need to remember that God anointed David to be king long before he actually became king, and David was tested in many ways while he waited. Patience must be tested, humility must be manifested and faith must grow.
Only after we pass our tests do we get promoted to the next level of what God has in mind for us. In the meantime, we need to enjoy where we are while we are on the way to where God is taking us and be sure to appreciate the small things.
Prayers: Holy Spirit empower me to finish strong.
