Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in the early lead as results of the primary election conducted through the night are being counted.
In the first ballot box, Tinubu, popularly known as Asiwaju garnered 205 votes, followed by Rotimi Amaechi who has 29 votes and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who polled 23 votes.
Ahmed Lawan, Senate President has 23 votes and Governor Yahaya Bello has five votes and there are three invalid votes.
The coast was clear for Tinubu Tuesday night when strong contenders like Kayode Fayemi, Godswill Akpabio, Ibikunle Amosun, Ajayi Borofice and Dimeji Bankola stepped down to support his candidacy.
Tinubu also polled 300 votes in the second ballot box and was followed by Amaechi with 150 votes. Both Yahaya Bello and Osinbajo polled 100 and 50 votes respectively.
