A United Airlines flight U50512 scheduled to depart Abuja for Owerri has been delayed for unknown reasons as passengers become apprehensive of airline.
The flight which was supposed to depart at 10.00am was delayed for one hour.
Passengers who located an operational staff were not told the reason for the delay of the operating aircraft which had landed Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport at 10.00am.
Passengers were already apprehensive given the recent incident where a United Airlines flight scheduled for Abuja from Lagos landed at Asaba, Delta state.
United Airlines claimed the Abuja bound flight ended up in Asaba due to bad weather while the pilot claimed a mix up with the flight plan.
The Aviation Ministry quickly disowned United Airlines claims. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation, informed reporters that the Aviation authorities did not divert the flight due to bad weather but rather a disagreement between the airline and the lessor of the aircraft cause a mix up.
Owerri bound passengers of the airline are worried that they may be facing the same situation that led to the diversion of the Abuja bound flight.
The flight to Owerri was yet to depart as at the time of filing this report.
