Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has redeployed erstwhile Chief of Staff Queen Agwu who now functions only as Principal Secretary in the office of the Governor.
In a minor cabinet reshuffle, Umahi also named erstwhile PS, Clement Nweke, as Acting Commissioner for Housing & Urban Development.
The Governor also placed Emma Obasi, deputy PS and Okechukwu Nwakpu, Deputy Chief Of Staff on half salary for “non-performance”.
Umahi is accusing the duo of non-performance for failing to meet his expectations in his avowed ruthlessness against political enemies, both real and imagined.
Fuming with rage, the Governor threatened that he will trim the size of his EXCO to weed out all those who continue to “stay on the fence” in his attack on the opposition; directing that he wants to “see action” from all members of the Council in this regard.
He observed that it was only the Chairmen of Afikpo South, Ishielu and Onicha Local Government Areas that were “performing” and he was “sure of their loyalty” insisting that majority of EXCO members were suspects in his fight against the opposition PDP that he didn’t trust.
Encouraging loyal followers to “endure” He promised that he will “share money in 2022”.
