Sixteen wedding guests, including four children, have allegedly been kidnapped in Abuja.
The kidnappers reportedly performed their nefarious activities at the Gaube community in Gwargwada Chiefdom of Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
A resident of the area, Shuaibu Dantani, who gave details of the incident today, December 12, said that the victims, mostly women, were abducted on their way from a wedding in Abaji Area Council on Saturday evening.
The kidnappers, wielding guns, were said to have flagged down the vehicle conveying them and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
“A man riding a motorcycle on his way to Rubochi who nearly ran into the kidnappers returned to the village and raised the alarm,” he said.
According to him, family members of the victims were yet to establish contact with the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, the traditional ruler, Agabe of Gwargwada, Alhaji Hussain Agabi Imam, has confirmed the incident, saying that nobody has been able to establish communication with the kidnappers.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Adeh Josephine, was yet to confirm the incident at the time of filing this report.
