THE Executive Director of National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Adedayo Thomas has called for the creation of a Film and Video Censors Board in Nasarawa State by the state government.
Thomas made the call while declaring open the second phase of Nasarawa Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building Programme which took place at Canalolympia site in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
He explained that there are a lot of opportunities abound in the film industry that can be harnessed through the Board which he noted would oversee the development of the industry.
According to him, the Nasarawa State FVCB, if created would ensure that the state’s cultural and moral values are kept while also creating more jobs and boost revenue base of the state.
On the youth empowerment programme, Thomas stated that his board had been to other parts of the Federation to ensure that the youths are sensitized about the opportunities in the fIlm industry given the rate of unemployment in the country and the decision of the Buhari government to tackle the problem headlong.
He therefore enjoined participants at the programme, drawn from all the local governments in the state to use the opportunity to build themselves up.
