FOREMOST Islamic organisation, the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) says it will place a curse on kidnappers across the country if they don’t repent from their evil ways.
The Islamic group particularly threatened that it would start organising special prayers and fastings until God destroys the kidnappers if they refused to repent.
According to Daily Trust, National Chairman Ulama’u Council of JIBWIS, Sani Yahaya Jingir issued the threat at the opening ceremony of Juma’at Mosque on top of the Zinariya Hill in Jos.
He said, “Kidnapping is prohibited according to Islam and constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, so we are calling on them (kidnappers) to repent.”
“If they didn’t we would start organising special prayers and fastings until God heard us and destroy them spiritually.” He said.
Jingir described the activities of kidnappers as “callous”, “unislamic” and “inhuman” that need to be stopped at all cost. The cleric also called government at all levels and security agencies to work round the clock in curtailing the incessant kidnappings in the country.
He also called on government at all levels to provide jobs to the teaming youths in order to end insecurity bedeviling the country.
