President Muhammadu Buhari is to travel to Saudi Arabia on an official visit, where he is expected to perform the lesser hajj.
The President is billed to embark on the trip on Tuesday, April 11th, and return on the 19th, 2023.
A terse statement by Buhari’s media aide, Garba Shehu noted that being the President’s last official trip to Saudi Arabia, he will seize the opportunity to perform Umrah, the Lesser Pilgrimage.
He will be accompanied by his aides, the terse statement added.
Buhari is billed to hand over to his successor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29th, 2023. Although there are litigations challenging the outcome of the recent presidential elections from opponents.
Buhari had at various times stated that he was eager to leave the stage for his successor to enable him tend to his cattles back home in Daura, where he hails from.
To perfect the handing over arrangements, he had inuagurated a transition committee prior to the commencement of the 2023 general elections.
