President Muhammadu Buhari has terminated the appointment of Saratu Umar as the executive secretary/chief executive officer of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) with immediate effect.
His action comes barely a few days after the President fired Mohammed Haruna, the executive vice chairman, and chief executive officer of the national agency for science engineering infrastructure (NASENI).
Umar’s appointment was terminated in a terse statement circulated by Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina.
According to the presidency, in a directive to Adeniyi Adebayo, the minister of industry, trade, and investment, the President also mandated the most senior director in the commission to immediately take over in the interim.
