The FCT High Court 40, Bwari, has acquitted and discharged Edozie Njoku and Chukwuemeka Nwoga of forgery charges brought against the duo by the Nigeria Police Force.
Delivering judgment on Tuesday morning, presiding Judge Madugu Mohammed declared that based on the evidence before him, Njoku is the national chairman of APGA and therefore could not have forged a judgment of the supreme court.
The charges against Njoku and his co-defendant were based on a petition instigated by the former national chairman, Victor Oye and a secret letter written by Hajo Sarki Bello, claiming that any judgment proclaiming Njoku chairman did not emanate from the apex court.
Njoku’s position as chairman was subsequently affirmed by the supreme court when the apex court corrected its judgment of October 14th, 2021.
Njoku and Chukwuemeka Nwoga were detained at the correctional centre, Suleija, for two days on the orders of Justice Madugu Mohammed before the full trial commenced.
