The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar and that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi have approached the Presidential Election Court (PEC) in Abuja to grant them unhindered access to inspect materials used for the February 25 election.
Their request is contained in two ex-parte motions filed by them at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.
Both motions, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and two others as respondents, have been listed for hearing today.
While Atiku filed his own on March 1, Obi’s motion was filed the next day.
Their requests is sequel to six states of the federation; namely Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo and Sokoto have dragged the federal government before the Supreme Court over the conduct, collation and announcement of the February 25, 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections.
The states mentioned want the apex court to declare that the pronouncement of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election and president-elect based on that election be voided by the court.
