It would appear that speculations and controversy over the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, self-acclaimed leader of Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, has settled following revelations by his brother that he was arrested in Kenya.
There had been speculations that he was arrested in different countries including Cameroon, Ethiopia, Brazil, Germany and England.
According to security sources, Nnamdi Kanu had with him his broadcast apparatuses when he was arrested.
His phones, laptops and other recording equipment were confiscated by security operatives.
The seizure of Kanu’s broadcast and communications equipment is causing panic in certain circles as his phones and laptops are considered by the Nigerian intelligence community as a treasure trove of information.
Such information as different bank accounts he was operating in many countries, including Nigeria, his contacts, major funders and contributors are certain to be in the gadgets confiscated from Kanu.
One source told our reporter, “ordinarily Nnamdi Kanu would look angry and defiant upon arrest. He looked solemn and downcast because he knows the cache of information in the hands of Nigerian security agencies would be devastating to a lot of people associated with him.”
Circumstances of the arrest of the self-acclaimed IPOB leader remains in the realms of speculations as security agencies have refused to release the information.
