The National Examinations Council (NECO) says it will not extend the registration period for the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school-based candidates.
Azeez Sani, spokesperson for the Council said in a statement on Tuesday sent to ELendu Reports that the Registration exercise which started on March 31 will close on Friday, June 25, 2021, and “will not be subjected to extension”.
He said that the examination would commence unfailingly on Monday, July 5, 2021.
Sani explained that the decision of the Council not to extend the registration was to enable efficient and effective planning for the examination logistics required for the smooth conduct of the 2021 SSCE internal.
He added that state ministries of education, commandants, principals, proprietors and other relevant stakeholders were enjoined to take note of the closing date and ensure timely completion of their candidates’ registration.
“The Council assures all stakeholders of its resolve to have seamless conduct of the 2021 SSCE,” he added.
