DEPUTY Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, on Saturday says Nigeria will be a better place, if people of proven integrity, honour and the fear of God are elected into public offices.
Wase stated this at the award of Professor laureate in philanthropic management ,honor Coosa by the board of Regents of Freedom University and Theological Seminary ,Pottstown , United States of America (African campus) conferred on the Chairman ,Governing Council of Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, Babangida Nguroje.
The Deputy Speaker who described the awardee as detriabalized Nigerian whose philanthropy cults across religion and ethnicity , called on Nigerians to be committed towards ensuring that peace takes precedence in all our dealings .
He maintained that Nigeria at the moment needs people of high integrity and “I must say here, that Honourable Nguroje is a man of honour , integrity , peace and represents development and I commend this institution for this great honour on him”.
Similarly , Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs , George Akume commended the organization for honouring the former deputy speaker , Babangida Nguroje.
Represented by his Special Assistant Mkor Aondona, the minister stressed that Nguroje is a young man who else ability and capacity to impact positively on people irrespective of where they come from can not be over emphasized and thanked the institution for making the right set of choices .
In his remarks, the awardee assured that the honour will spur him to redouble his efforts in the area of philanthropy and expand his scope to accommodate as many as possible .
He urged Nigerians to embrace peace and offer their maximum support to their leaders so as to take the country to a level that all Nigerians desire to be.
