Professor Folasade Ogunsola has elected as the acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
She was elected on Monday by the Senate members of the University.
Prof Ogunsola, until her election was the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development Services.
Her emergence follows the directive by the Federal Government that Senate of the university should appoint an acting Vice Chancellor that will oversee the affairs of the university pending the outcome of a Special Visitation Panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to look into crisis rocking the university.
President Buhari, last week directed the Chairman of Council of the University, Dr. Wale Babalakin and the erstwhile vice chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, to step aside to pave the way for a special visitation panel.
Prior to that, the Babalakin-led council had suspended the embattled VC, Prof Ogundipe and appointed Prof Soyombo as acting Vice Chancellor.
