Following his emergence as chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the Senator representing Nasarawa West, Abdullahi Adamu, has written the upper legislative chamber disclosing his resignation from the 9th Senate.
Senator Adamu said his resignation was as a result of his new roles as National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Similarly, Senator Abubakar Kyari (Borno North) also resigned from the Senate following his emergence as APC Deputy National chairman (North)
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan read their letters at plenary on Tuesday morning.
Recall that Adamu emerged as consensus candidate of the party following intervention by President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the party does not disintegrate.
