The Senate on Tuesday urged the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, and the National Examination Council (NECO), to suspend the policy on National Identity Number registration as a requirement for writing any of the exams.
The Senate’s decision followed a motion moved by Senator Ifeanyi Uba and seconded by Senator Lilian Ekwunife.
In January, the Federal Government through the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, had emphasized that the use of a National Identification Number (NIN) is a mandatory requirement for UTME registration.
