ThMembers of the Nigerian female U-19 soccer team, Falconets, have been stranded in Turkey after their exit from the U-19 World Cup in Costa Rica.
Images of the players sleeping on the floor and chairs at the Turkey airport have gone viral on Social media.
A Twitter user, Sarafina Napoleon, who shared the images, wrote,” Behold what our U20 girls are going through after exiting the tournament Team departed Costa Rica on Monday morning as early as 6 and are now in Istanbul having to face over a 19hour layover. They are currently sleeping at the airport. Some on the floor, some on the chairs.”
The Falconets lost their quarter-final match by 2-0 to the Netherlands after recording 100 per cent success in the group stage, beating France, South Korea and Canada.
