The much talked list of the likely nominees are Hon Umaru Moh’d Bature, state commissioner of water resources, Hon Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa who contested for the seat of House of Representatives in 2015 and Hon Aliyu Mohammed FC, member of the Federal Allocations Commission.
According to sources within the seat of power, the elders agreed to support governor Tambuwal’s bids for second term in office, but advised him not to leave the office of the deputy governor to an amateur that may jeopardize his great chances of bringing development within the shortage period of his last lap tenure in office.
“Tambuwal must stand and show he is in control of his affairs by appointing a man who can make his govt vibrant and politically balanced; he need a supporting pillar, very reliable ally in garnering support and confidence of all other leaders within the old PDP.  It is wise for him now to addressed issue of complains varied from political lapses and indifference among some old supporters of the party by bringing someone who is a trustworthy to all the leadership of the party in the state to be in that office”
“Remember, both Bafarawa and Wali are two formidable workforce in the PDP, they can’t be sidelines on issues that are important as this; there is need of politucal cohesion and balanced within the party in the state. Governor need to take them along; so as to be on safer side for the 2019. It must be realistic to work together in unity for the success of the party in Sokoto state”  said one of the party elder in the state,”sources said.
