Olawale Sadare, the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has made good his pledge to improve the educational facilities at the only Secondary school in Owobaale Community of Egbeda Local Government Area of the state.
Sadare had paid a visit to Community High School, Owobaale about two weeks ago where he expressed dissatisfaction with the state of infrastructure in the school established in 1980 by the administration of late Chief Bola Ige while he promised to give the institution a facelift.
On Monday, he visited the school again to hand over a block of two classrooms which he personally renovated and equipped with tables and chairs for the use of students in Junior Secondary Schools 1 and 2 to the admiration of students and staffers of the school as well as members of the rustic community.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Sadare who was born in the same community over 40 years ago stated that he was delighted to give back to his root urging other privileged persons to complement the efforts of Governor Abiola Ajimobi to rejig the standard of education in the state.
His words: “kudos must be given to the Ajimobi administration for the various intervention efforts aimed at revamping the education industry in the state. The introduction of School Governing Board (SGB) initiative is a step in the right direction and it has to be supported by all and sundry”.
Bukola Akinbode, the Chairman of SGB for the school, eulogized the donor for remembering his root at a time of need and he promised to reach out to others within and outside the country to emulate Sadare who he described as a pride of the community.
In her own remarks, Mojisola Adebamiji , the Principal of the school, expressed her gratitude to the members of the SGB for attracting the attention of Sadare to the areas where immediate intervention was needed in the school as she also noted that members of staff would be encouraged by the gesture to work harder and impart positively on the students.
