Owa Obokun of ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has lauded the Federal Government’s economic recovery efforts, with particular reference to the anti-corruption crusade of President Mohammudu Buhari.
The frontline monarch stated this while speaking with newsmen in his palace in Ilesa, Osun State when Issac Adewole, Minister of Health, paid him a visit to congratulate him on his 80th Birthday.
The monarch opined that sanity is beginning to be the order of the day in the country.
He urged the Federal Government to expend all the money recovered from looters to avoid being affected by inflation.
Oba Aromolaran said the administration of President Buhari has been working in spite of paucity of fund.
At the palace, Issac Adewole, Minister for Health, congratulated the monarch on achieving the octogenarian milestone.
He said the importance of traditional rulers cannot be over-emphasised, noting that they are closer to the people than the government.
The Minister, who acknowledged that elderly people are assets to the nation, noted that it is important to tap from their wealth of experience.
He said, “Governments at all levels, at one time or the other, have made significant breakthrough in some of their programmes with the assistance and cooperation of traditional rulers.
He said his Ministry was able to record success in the area of polio immunisation.
“Nigeria did not make a breakthrough with polio immunisation until government brought in traditional rulers.”
The Health Minister thanked the people of Osun for their continuous support to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
