Osita Okechukwu, the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) was invited and grilled by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N1.3 billion contract fraud, a source told Elendu Reports.
Sources at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja said the DG of VON was detained till about 10:30pm since 1:30 pm when he arrived at the place over over an alleged case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N1.3 billion.
“He is with us,” EFCC’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren was reported to have confirmed to The Star.
Uwujaren declined further comment, the newspaper reported.
Okechukwu is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
