SINCE our Shepard is a Muslim, let me come from the perspective of Islam. Allah said in Surat An-Nisa “O ye who believe, stand firm for justice even against your own selves”. Islam is a religion of peace, equity and fairness. It shies away from oppression and contempt.
In 2015, a certain coup and counter coup emperor promised about 200 million people that he was a reformed democrat and would uphold the trust and mandate, rule of law and end impunity in a country led astray by his like minds. Ever since he got into power, the only interest he has served is nepotism, unfairness, oppression, propaganda, sponsored protests and chaos to mention just a few.
A notable event was when he was allowed into the Ka’bah Shareef in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. I recall the caption being that he went to Mecca to pray for a country dipped in an eclipse of blessings and corruption. What a beautiful way to show one’s affinity towards religion and divine help on Twitter.
In Qur’an (23:8), Allah was explaining the qualities of a true believer (Muslim), he stressed that “those who are to their trusts and their promises attentive”. I wonder what part of Qur’an is used as Friday sermon in the mosque he prays. Imam Ali (R.A) said “A faith of a mankind shall be measured by how much he upholds his promises”.
While Islam abhors forceful abduction and slavery, a mis-reformed democratic Alhaji has found a new trade in using the department of self-interest security to abduct and embarrass the judicial system in nation plagued with abundant mineral and human resources. Could it be a coincidence that Islam enjoys freedom and attaches expiations of some grievous sins by freeing slaves and repenting. Oh, emperor even your lord who you shall meet values freedom!
By the will of Allah, you named your child (may Allah forgive him) after a prophet that led a revolution against Pharaoh who was then a tyrant and a transgressor. Have you not read how Allah glorified and helped Musa (AS) against Pharaoh? It’s in Surat Taha, pick up your translated Qur’an and read.
Let me remind you of the sunnah you upheld in 2015, the Prophet(SAW) said “Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by hating it and feeling that it is wrong] – and that is the weakest of faith” I could swear by Allah you didn’t subscribe to weakest show of faith. You were active in the slander and walk against unfair governance and corruption. You even condemned and falsified a policy(subsidy) just for you to remove it too. By Allah I have never seen a warlord scared of swords and arrows.
In Islam, obedience to the law of the land is a religious duty and Allah said in Quran (4:60) “O ye who believe! obey Allah and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority over you”. The Prophet explained further “One who obeys his authority, obeys me. One who disobeys his authority, disobeys me”. I’m sure your creed conforms with the fact that when you disobey Allah and his messenger, you have lost your faith and your way.
The ridiculing and oppression of the judiciary system under your watch not only vectorize your penchant for disobeying the authority of the land and human rights. What happened today was an abomination of the rule of law and it’s might be worthy to remember that in Islam, every leader will account for his followers. You have failed to protect and uphold the fundamental teachings of Islam and its respect for humanity, compassion, fairness and equity!
Oh Ruler, might you be interested in leadership and fairness training as prescribed by Islam, you should subscribe to reading the translated Qur’an, the hadith, the law and the history of the sahabahs. My name is Bifola Adam and I condemn the oppression shown towards Sowore. Thank you.
