Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology says his Ministry will collaborate with security outfits to ensure peace and security in the country.
Onu disclosed this when the participants / directing staff, of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) of the Institute for Security Studies, paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Monday in Abuja.
He said the Ministry through its parastatals, will deploy valuable technology that would assist security outfits in discharging assignment effectively
According to him, the Ministry is also working to ensure that Nigeria moves away from a resource – based to a knowledge and innovation – driven economy. The ministry is also striving to redress the incessant importation of raw materials through the National Strategy on Products Competiveness Policy of this administration.
He noted that the overall objectives of the various policies of the administration is to create wealth and provide employment opportunities for the people.
Earlier in his remarks, M. B. Seiyefa, Director of Institute for Security studies Bwari, informed the Minister that the course 54 participants were drawn from twenty Para – Military institutions for a nine-month course in the institute.
He highlighted that the theme of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 11 2018 is Cultural values and Contemporary Governance, Challenges of Ethnic Nationalism and Youth Disillusionment.
The purpose of the visit he said is to interface with the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in the course of their programme to collaborate on caution in the areas of Science and Technology, which will culminate into a tool for positive cultural value.
