The National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) has congratulated former President Olusegun Obasanjo as he bags PhD in Christian Theology at the National Open University (NOUN) today.
Fidelis Agunbiade, President of the Alumni, said that the achievement of the former president is worthy of emulation and an uncommon fit by an octogenarian.
He added that Obasanjo has laid a solid foundation for the future generation, telling them that it is never too late to acquire knowledge
According to him, “we are using this opportunity to congratulate the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as he bags his PhD in Christian Theology from our great alma mater on 20th January, 2018. He is indeed a role model and a shinning example of what the ‘animal called man’ can achieve in life. am inspired by him and a alumni. “
He also congratulated all the graduands especially the two inmates who performed credibly against all odds despite their incarceration.
Agunbiade disclosed this yesterday at a press conference in Abuja , where he said the new exco headed by him was determined to do all it can to reposition the association in order to achieve the aims and objectives as stipulated in its constitution.
He said recent development in the school have shown that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Abdalla is a man of great vision and zeal, stressing that the university would be galvanised into greater height under his tenure.
The Alumni also commended the National Assembly for amending the relevant sections of the law that established NOUN which it said would put an end to any format of discrimination against graduates of the school.
It therefore called on the federal government, Council for Legal Education as well as other stakeholders to expedite action on the admission of NOUN Law graduates into Nigerian Law School as a matter of urgency.
