Ibrahim Muhammad Kabir, a 40-year-old trader based in Ilorin , Kwara State capital is down with end stage renal disease which doctors say would require him to have a kidney transplant. Kabir is also a graduate.
Kabir deals in beans business. Buying from the North, Maiduguri mainly and selling in the South.
His family members and friends have since mounted an appeal fund tagged ” Save Muhammed Kabir from End stage Renal disease” on his behalf to save his life.
“Ibrahim Muhammad Kabir is a good brother who has been up and doing among his relatives, friends and co- workers. He was diagnosed of a renal disease some years which he has been placed on medication since then,” a message in the appeal fund reads.
According to him, he complained recently of the unhealthy status of his body which prompted another diagnosis.
He was later diagnosed of an end stage renal disease and his status was worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented him from seeking medical attention.
The doctors advised on KIDNEY TRANSPLANT and the disease is now life threatening.
He has struggled to raise the fund but his efforts and that of the close relatives has not been huge.
“The total cost of the surgery and other post surgery expenses has been summed to cost N 16 million,” said Kabir who is now constantly on a dialysis machine at the General Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Doctors say the kidney transplant can be done in India, Lagos, UCH and another new hospital discovered in Abuja.
Kabir currently needs N16 million for the operation out of which N5.6 million has been realised through the appeal fund.
