THE National Assembly is ready to pass the 2021 budget before the end of the year, by the grace of God, Ahmad Lawan, President of the 9th Senate has said.
Lawan said this on Thursday in his opening remarks before the President, Muhammadu Buhari ( was called to lay the national budget before the joint session of the National Assembly.
This is despite having just two months left to the end of 2020.
He recalled how the parliament promised to pass the 2020 budget before the year ended, which was achieved.
The 2020 budget was passed by the Senate in December 2019 when it approved N10.59 trillion as an aggregate expenditure. The approved figure is N263.946 billion higher than the N10.330 trillion presented to the National Assembly for consideration and approval by President Muhammadu Buhari in October.
