Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has warned his supporters not to mention the name Funke Akindele, the PDP’s Lagos gubernatorial running mate, in his presence, saying that it is disrespectful to him.
Tinubu was seen in a video addressing his supporters, telling them in vernacular that it’s disrespectful to mention the actress-turned-politician’s name in his presence.
“Don’t worry to mention that name again; it’s an insult,” Tinubu told the gearing supporters on Wednesday in Lagos.
“Don’t even mention that name in my front. @funkeakindele, it is an insult”. That Jagaban denigrating Funke Akindele. A woman who struggled from the grace to stardom? Who is Seyi Tinubu pls? PD’s Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR) is running for the Lagos State Governorship seat with Akindele as his running mate against Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the incumbent governor.
But Tinubu, during the campaign meeting, described Akindele as a political ‘ant’ compared to Sanwo-Olu.
“Who is Funke Akindele before Sanwo-Olu of Lagos? She is an ant,” the supporters sang.
