THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has registered a total of 13,013,989 new voters nationwide in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The consolidated CVR report as at August 20, 2018 also revealed card replacement requests of 999,656 had also been accomplished by the commission.
According to the breakdown of the report, Lagos state has the highest number of CVR with 685, 503, followed by Rivers with 665,560, Abia 536,039, Enugu, 501,508 and Ogun with 493, 832.
However, the report revealed that Zamfara with 188,196, Sokoto, 196,580, Ondo 136, 8827; Ekiti, 179,518; and Kwara with 181, 920 were the states States with the lowest number of voters.
The report showed that 847, 693 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) had so far been collected, while transfer requests of 641, 274 had been made.
The report revealed further that INEC registered a total of 3,981,502 voters in 2017, while 9,032,487 had been registered in 2018, as at august 20.
The exercise that started in April 2017 and would end by August 31 also showed that a total of 5,840,306 females had been registered so far.
