Pat Utomi, a political economist and a member of the opposition Labour Party (LP), says he does not believe in the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
Utomi, a former member of the APC, said, during a live programme on Channels Television on Monday, that “Tinubu’s ambition is not for the good of the people.” He admitted that Tinubu and he had worked together in the past and said they would work together any day “if it’s for the good of the people”.
When asked by Seun Okinbaloye, the anchor of the programme, if he believed that Tinubu’s ambition was for the good of the people, Utomi said, “I don’t.”
He also argued that “it’s not Tinubu’s turn” as the former Governor of Lagos State had claimed that “emi lokan, meaning ‘it’s my tturn’.
“How will it be his turn? What about other people in Nigeria,” Utomi queried?
I will not be seeking political office at his age…certain things are good for certain times. Our country has suffered so much from having ailing leaders, and that was why the Vice President was stepped up.
