Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister of transport, says there was never a time he described Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, as a drug baron.
Ameachi described a social media post that alleged that Tinubu is a drug baron as a “wicked joke by cowards”.
A source very close to the former governor of Rivers state said Amaechi did not at any time make such a comment as those do not reflect his true feelings toward Tinubu.
The social media post made by Dailymail gist quoted Amaechi as saying “if APC and INEC had done a proper screening of all the presidential candidates, Tinubu would have been disqualified for drug trafficking”.
The source further told Elendu Reports that “some nameless guys made unfounded allegations against Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and instead of owning up to it have cowardly attributed same to Amaechi”.
“For the avoidance of doubt, let me state unequivocally that Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi did not make those disparaging comments about Sen. Bola Tinubu. People should pick up their umbrellas where they took their baths. The rains will soon be upon them,” the source said.
