Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has presented a N245.3billion budgetary proposal to the state House of Assembly for the 2023 fiscal year.
Tagged Budget for Consolidation and Prosperity II, its estimates are over N49b above the 2022 budget, and it’s to be funded through statutory allocation, grants, loans and IGR.
Ganduje had last year presented over N196billion to the Kano State House of Assembly for the 2022 fiscal year.
The 2023 proposed appropriation bill has N144.6b as capital expenditure representing 59 per cent of the total budget size, while the recurrent expenditure in the proposed bill stood at over N100bn, representing 41 per cent of the budget size.
The budgetary appropriations will be the last of such presentations by Ganduje to the State House of Assembly as he is expected to bow out of office in May next year.
