The Federal Government on Monday failed to produce the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, before Justice Binta Nyako, of the Federal High Court Abuja.
M.D Abubakar told the court that Nnamdi was not in court due to “logistics” issues.

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, leading counsel to Kanu has told Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, that the DSS has denied him and relatives of Kanu the opportunity to see him.
“I was informed authoritatively, I am speaking from the bar, that Nnamdi Kanu has been taken out of the jurisdiction of this court,” Ejiofor said.
“We have been denied access to Kanu in the last 10 days. We are worried about his safety and don’t know why the Federal Government refused to bring him in court” Ejiofor complained to the court.”
Court Adjourns Kanu’s Trial To Oct 21
Meanwhile, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court has adjourned the trial of the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to October 21, due to the failure of the Federal Government to produce him in court on Monday.
The Nigerian Government had on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, announced that Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria from where he was exiled after jumping bail.
Abubakar Malami, Nigeria’s Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice who announced the arrest said the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
Malami further disclosed that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.
