Operators in the Nigerian Small and Meduim Enterprises (SMEs) sub-sector have taken the buy ‘Made in Nigeria’ campaign to China.

A statement issued by SMEDAN in Abuja on Wednesday and signed by its spokesman, Ibrahim Mohammed, said 26 Micro Small and Medium Entreprises (MSMEs) showcased the over 40 different Nigerian products at the global fair.

“Over 300 SMEs from various countries participated at the international expo. The Nigeria Pavilion was a beehive of activities as all through the duration of the fair, an average of 300 visitors engages the Nigerian officials and exhibitors on a daily basis on business opportunities and investment in the country,” parts of the statement read.

Products exhibited by Nigerian MSMEs at the fair include textiles, agricultural products, general products and leather products.

The Nigerian delegation was led by the Director General of SMEDAN, Dikko Umaru Radda, who participated and made presentations on the state of MSMEs in Nigeria in two major events at the fair; the SMEs Cross Business Matchmaking Activity and the Guangdong Tour Belt and Road Campaign.

Speaking on the fair, the SMEDAN boss commended the performance of the Nigeria exhibitors who actually came out to showcase what Nigeria has for the global community.

Radda added that through the expo, Nigeria was able to match make some of its SMEs with other investors and similar SMEs who are in China for the world exhibition.

He said the results would surely come as in matchmaking the results are not immediate, but at least a business channel has been opened which is good for Nigerian MSMEs sub-sector.
