Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Governor of Gombe State, has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on the fuel scarcity crisis rocking various parts of the country in this festive period.
Dankwambo who expressed concern on the hardship Nigerians are being subjected to by the lingering scarcity of the petroleum product, said the Federal Government needs to roll up its sleeves to address the problem instead of calling for prayers.
In a string of tweets on his twitter handle on Saturday night under #FuelScarcity, Dankwambo said many people that travelled for the Yuletide might not be able to return to their base due to the fuel scarity.
He said : “I’m appealing to the FG to declare a state of emergency on this lingering #FuelScarcity in the country as it has brought untold hardship on Nigerians traveling home for yuletide.
“There’s an urgent need to call all the stakeholders to a roundtable and find an amicable solution to this #FuelScarcity once and for all.
“This #FuelScarcity continues, Nigerians who have traveled home for Yuletide will find it very difficult to come back after Christmas/New Year celebration. stromectol
“Nigeria needs more work than prayers. The essence of leadership is to work for the people not to urge them to be praying.”
