The controversial prophet, Onyebuchi Okocha, Founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministry who also goes by the name ‘Onyeze Jesus and based in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State has been arrested by operatives from Anambra Police Command.
The police spokesman in Anambra State, Mohammed Haruna confirmed he was arrested on Wednesday and will likely be arraigned for various offences any moment.
Okocha’s mode of operation raised eyebrows following which state government on January 25, through a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment C. Don Adinuba warned him against his practices which the government viewed as ‘criminal and indecent conduct in the name of religion’.
The prophet, for instance, sprays money on his adherent while they bath naked in the river.
He also boasted that he will resurrect the dead.
For that reason, the state Ministry of Health on Wednesday warned hospitals and mortuaries operating in the state against allowing him access to their facilities to carry out “his widely publicised claim and planned ‘magic’ that he would raise seven corpses from the dead on January 28, 2021.
