The Federal Government has appointed Zanna Mohammed as Acting Inspector General of Police.
Zanna succeeds Adamu Mohammed who bows out of service on February 1st, 2021.
Sources at the Force headquarters confirmed the appointment to Elendu Reports on Tuesday, in Abuja.
The new IG is expected to be presented to the President, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
Although Adamu’s tenure has been described as one of the most successful in the history of the police, the #EndSARS Protest by youths, which later snowballed into mass looting and destruction of public property may have had a slight dent on his administration.
