The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, head of the Commonwealth and monarch of 15 countries, has been confirmed dead.
Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday at 96 after more than 70 years on the throne.
The Roya Family announced the Queen’s demise on its official Twitter handle Thursday evening.
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” the Twitter message read.

The Queen was the second longest reigning monarch in history and the longest reigning monarch ever in Britain The Queen was Sovereign of 14 Commonwealth realms in addition to the UK. Britain had 15 Prime Ministers under her watch.
