Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja has fixed August 29, for judgment on a suit filed by the Federal Government against detained Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.
In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022, the Federal Government is seeking an order of court granting the extradition of Kyari to the United State of America, for him to face trial over his indictment in an alleged internet fraud by a Nigerian, Abdulraman Abbas also known as Hushpuppi.
The suit, titled: “Application for the Extradition of Abba Kyari to the U.S” was dated and filed on March 2.
The extradition suit was filed by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN.
Court papers indicated that the application was filed under the Extradition Act, as part of the Federal Government’s approval of the request by the U. S. for Kyari’s extradition.
Justice Ekwo fixed the date on Friday, after parties in the suit had adopted their written addresses as their final arguments.
