Dariye, who is currently one of the senators from the state in the National Assembly, was also found guilty of criminal breach of trust as regards to N250 million issued to Pinnacle Communications emanating from the state’s Ecological Fund.
At the time of filing this report, proceedings were still ongoing in the court as the presiding judge,
Justice A. Banjoko, was yet to disclose the number of years the embattled senator will spend in Kuje prison.
Dariye, who was elected as governor under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999 was in office till 2007 after a Supreme Court voided his impeachment from office over fraud allegation during his second term in office.
He was elected as senator in 2015 under Labour Party (LP) before he decided to change base to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2017.
