Prof Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman said registered voters among the estimated two million internally displaced Nigerians will be allowed to vote in the next month’s elections.
Yakubu who spoke at Chatham House, London on Tuesday said such IDPs would be allowed to vote if they are in secured internally displaced persons (IDP) Camps.
He spoke on preparations for Nigeria’s 2023 elections, pledging credible, inclusive, and technology-driven polls.
The INEC chairman said credible and inclusive elections depend on adequate preparations, adding that the commission is preparing for a general election of high integrity and inclusiveness.
