After Friday’s debacle of a press conference by Victor Oye and his prop, Prof. Peter Umeadi, they have shifted attention to the courts.
First, Gov. Soludo and Victor Oye have activated their legal luminaries in the persons of Dr Onyechi Ikpeazu SAN and Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN to pressure the Police to arraign Chief Edozie Njoku next week on phantom charges, which would include forgery.
The second leg of their plan is to use the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Hajo Sarki Bello and the Director of Litigation Dikko to cause the Chief Justice of Nigeria to set up another panel of Justices to interpret the “forged” judgment of the Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili led panel.
Meanwhile, Gov. Soludo and Victor Oye, through one Dr Amadi, have mounted pressure on the INEC chairman to resist entreaties from well-meaning Nigerians who have deluged Prof. Yakubu Mahmood to obey the Supreme Court judgement to avoid a catastrophic end to his career and the 2023 elections. The Soludo/Oye group assured Prof. Mahmood that they are ‘working out something at the Supreme Court.
Recall that inducements and pressure were directed at the INEC chairman after the corrected judgment was served on INEC in May and the enrolled order of July 15th. While he tarried, the duo of Hajo Sarki Bello and Dikko, Chief Registrar and Litigation director, respectively, concocted letters claiming that the Supreme Court did not correct the judgment on APGA.
These letters, which denied all the CTC’s given to Edozie Njoku by the Supreme Court, was sent to the Police and hand-delivered to INEC was the basis on which Prof. Mahmood has adamantly refused to obey the judgment of the Odili panel.
