Bola Tinubu , the presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has described the death of ace film maker and founder of the Africa Movie Academy Award, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe as shocking and sad.
Tinubu who has been going round the country campaigning to occupy the number seat as President come May 29th this year, said the creative industry in Nigeria have been dealt a big blow following the passage of Anyiam-Osigwe.
The former Lagos state governor said this in a statement signed by Tunde Rahman, his media aide on Tuesday.
According to him, Anyiam-Osigwe will remain evergreen for her work in the film industry across the continent, especially in nurturing creative talents through AMAA and Africa Film Academy.
He said her commitment to the growth of the sector in Nigeria and across Africa where she was seen as a trailblazer through nurturing of talents and credible award platform will forever be cherished and remembered.
“I have a personal relationship with Peace through my association with her illustrious family. My deepest condolences and sympathy goes to her aged mother, brothers, her professional colleagues and friends. May God grant her soul peaceful rest,”Tinubu stated in his condolence message.
