Annie Idibia Care Foundation (Aicare) has commenced empowerment training for 1,000 youth as part of activities marking her birthday ceremony this year.
The wife of Nigeria hip-hop star, Innocent Idibia, also known as 2baba said that the 1000 youth would be trained in 15 different skills.
Annie said in Abuja on Wednesday: “This is the first day of the free empowerment training. We have about fifteen (15) skills and about twenty facilitators. The training is going to be on for six days from 8:30 a.m to 5pm.Everyone has the opportunity to participate in two different classes.
“Aicare foundation was founded last year, every year I throw a big party for my birthday, but last year I decided I wanted something different. I decided that every year I will celebrate my birthday with 1,000 awesome youth. This is just a little way to give back to you guys for all your support, ” she added
Annie revealed that the aim was to train all Nigeria youth,adding that the free empowerment training started with Lagos and Akwa-Ibom states last year, and was brought to Abuja and Makurdi this year.
She explained that the best fifteen (15) youth from the fifteen different classes would be given start up kits.
When asked about the criteria used in selecting the participants, she said the first 1,000 youth that applied online were picked.
Areas of skills acquisition include: Event, Fashion, photography, cinematography, master class in make up, among others.
Speaking, 2face said he was very proud of Annie and her bold move to empower Nigerian youth, stressing; “this is wonderful. I was overwhelmed when she started last year.”
He therefore called on people who have equally being blessed by God to emulate Annie and make the world a better place.
