ABBA Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari is dead.
He died in a Lagos hospital where he was being treated for Covid-19.
His death was announced in a statement by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The 81-year-old late Chief of Staff tested positive for the new Coronavirus virus on April 17 following a trip to Germany where he met with officials of Siemens on March 7.
Kyari started showing symptoms of Covid-19 at a meeting in Villa on March 15 when he started coughing repeatedly.
He later submitted himself for a test, which came out positive. Though on March 29, Kyari assured Nigerians that he would soon get back to his duty post, he died of complications from the novel virus.

The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
May God accept his soul.
Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
