Terrorists known locally as bandits on Wednesday night attacked the Kaduna-Abuja train, no life was lost and no one was kidnapped.
According to a Twitter post by Shehu Sani, a former senator, the bandits planted an explosive that damaged rail track and shattered the windshield of the train engine.
Sani said “they also opened fire, targeting the Driver and the Tank”. “It happened between Dutse and Rijana stations. “The Driver struggled to move towards Kaduna Rigasa station.”
The former lawmaker said he was on board on Thursday morning when the train “ran over another explosive damaged railings”.
“The train nearly skid off its track, then we miraculously escaped.”
There have been reported attempts on the Abuja-Kaduna train which has since become the last options for travellers since bandits have taken over the expresscroad.
