Over 15 persons are feared dead following a gas explosion that occurred in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Elendu Reports gathered that the explosion occurred late Friday, 22, 2020, leaving no fewer than 20 persons injured from the various degree of burn and several houses destroyed.
It was learnt that the explosion erupted from Osadebe Gas plant along the expressway, close to Eye clinic Agbor, Delta State.
Sources said that several houses close to the gas plant were reduced to ashes.
Our source simply identified as Rachael revealed that no fewer than 15 persons are confirmed dead from the fire incident and 20 houses burnt.
According to our source, ” The fire started around 6 pm on Friday. The gas exploded at Osadebe Gas Plant, along Benin/Asaba Expressway. Over 20 houses in the area were razed by fire and not less than 15 have died while many are injured.
I and my husband alongside other people tried to rescue some people. The sad thing is that when some victims were rushed to the General Hospital, Agbor, the nurses were running away. There was no equipment to attend to them”.
It was also gathered that some of the explosion victims were transferred to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Asaba.
As of the time of filing this report on Saturday morning, no official statement either from Delta State Fire Service Command or from the media handlers of the state government.
